Drum БШ is a type of FOCL fitting, a classic loop rotating drum to install mount couplings at OPL supports along with different length stub cables. When a FOC section is wound, the drum spinning is blocked. It is fastened to supports using suspension devices chose depending the pole or leg profile (round or square crosswise).
See below diagram for a typical way of attaching a drum БШ to a PL support. The marking characteristics indicate the fastening method: 1 and 3 – to support posts, 2 – to columns CB. Fastening method is not important for the drum operation as it considers the need for rotation when the cable is loose and for stabilization if the coupling comes with a large cable section.
Marking
The marking indicates the type and brand of used coupling and bracket/suspension device for fastening of the structure itself to a support or post.
All drums are described by a standard code БШ-1-хх.ххМ, БШ-2-х or БШ-3-х, where:
- БШ – loop drum (acronym of the Russian name).
- 1,2 and 3 – fastening type identification (2 – to posts, 1 and 3 – to supports).
- xx.xx, xx.xxM, x – characteristics of coupling assy.
